Associate Member Profile | Canadian Heartland Training Railway Services
RAC members and associate members are committed to sustainability in every sense of the word. That includes a continuous improvement culture to build on Canada’s already enviable rail safety record. Keewatin Railway Company (KRC) recently marked a milestone anniversary. Fifteen years ago, in the spring of 2006, KRC began operations as a lifeline to several northern Manitoba communities that both built and relied upon rail, and whose futures were very uncertain in the time leading up to KRC’s creation.
Associate Member Profile | Drain-All Ltd.
Drain-All is headquartered in Ottawa with operating facilities in both Ottawa and Napanee, Ontario. Yet, as a trusted member of the Canadian Emergency Response Contractors Alliance, crews are sometimes called to go further afield – on their own or to support other contractors.
Member Profile | Cando Rail & Terminals Ltd.
When it comes to sustainability, ‘can-do’ isn’t just a name, it’s an ethos. Brandon-based Cando Rail Services got its start as a rail salvage company and found success in making all that was old new again. In 1978, Cando’s co-founder, Gord Peters, quit an oilfield job when he and partner Rick Hammond found a neat niche: ripping old rail track out of abandoned lines across rural Canada, and repurposing it in environmentally responsible ways.
